Non-combustible Class A1 fire resistance, with a fire-resistance rating of 1 to over 2 hours.
Excellent hydrophobic and moisture‑resistant performance, with a water repellency rate of ≥99%.
Melting temperature > 1000°C, with low high-temperature linear shrinkage.
It is non-corrosive to metals and exhibits stable physicochemical properties.
Asbestos-free, CFC/HCFC/HFC-free, environmentally friendly and safe.
Application Scenarios
External wall external insulation system: This is the most common application. Rock wool boards are fixed to the exterior of a building’s walls, forming a comprehensive system that provides thermal insulation, fire protection, waterproofing, and aesthetic finishing. It is particularly well suited for public buildings with stringent fire‑safety requirements—such as office towers, hospitals, and shopping malls—as well as for high‑rise residential structures. In some countries, rock wool is used almost exclusively for exterior insulation on buildings taller than 22 meters.
Firebreak Strip: In the exterior wall insulation system, a strip made of rock wool is installed at regular intervals along the height of the wall. Its function is to effectively prevent flames from spreading through the insulation system and to contain the fire’s escalation in the event of a fire.
Roof and Floor Insulation: High‑density rock wool boards can serve as both the insulation layer and the load‑bearing layer for roofs, commonly used on steel‑framed or concrete flat‑roofed structures in industrial plants, airports, sports venues, and similar applications. They are also suitable for insulating floor slabs between stories, providing thermal insulation and soundproofing.
