Industrial rock wool pipe shell

Industrial rock wool pipe shells are specialized rock wool products designed for pipe insulation. They are manufactured primarily from natural minerals such as basalt, which are melted at high temperatures and spun into fibers. After the addition of a binder, the material is rolled into shape using molds and then cured to achieve its final form. Its semi‑tubular design—featuring a single longitudinal slit along the axis—allows for easy, direct installation by slipping it over the pipe, making application quick and convenient.

  • Product Description
  • Product Features

Outstanding fire‑resistance performance: It achieves Class A1 non‑combustibility, with a maximum service temperature of up to 650°C and a thermal‑load‑induced shrinkage temperature of approximately 600°C, effectively slowing the spread of fire.

High‑efficiency thermal insulation: With a thermal conductivity typically ranging from 0.03 to 0.047 W/(m·K), it effectively reduces heat loss in pipelines, contributing to energy savings.

Excellent hydrophobicity and moisture resistance: with a water-repellent rate exceeding 99%, it is well-suited for humid environments, effectively preventing moisture and condensation.

Chemical stability: High acidity coefficient (typically ≥1.8), resulting in low corrosivity toward metal pipelines. Some manufacturers offer low-chloride products (chloride ion content ≤10 ppm) specifically designed to protect stainless steel equipment.

Easy installation: The pipe shell features a unilateral split along the axial direction, allowing it to be easily slipped over the pipe, making it particularly well suited for insulation of small-diameter straight pipes.

Sound absorption and noise reduction: Its porous fibrous structure gives it a certain capacity for sound absorption and noise reduction.
